an accessible & free socially-distanced competition for marginalized coffee folx to Take Up Space.
The DiGiTiTiON consists of six different competitions: BARISTA - BREWERS - COFFEE+BOOZE - ROASTERS - TASTERS - LATTE ART

The DiGiTiTiON has two main goals: Accessibility and Community.
ACCESSIBILITY - whatever the barrier to competition is, we want to get rid of it.
Last year, Glitter Cat trained the first-ever deaf competitor to compete in the U.S. Barista Championships and we found necessary ways to make our programs more accessible to the deaf community.
Nearly 90% of our website has been translated into Spanish and we will translate applications and/or pages into any language requested.
This competition is open to folx with physical disabilities who might not have otherwise been accommodated to participate in a coffee event. This space is for everyone.
COMMUNITY - Being a Glitter Cat is not about the place you take, it is about the place you make.
Through competing, we can find a special and unique community and that is what is important. Part of being a Glitter Cat is finding camaraderie with like-minded folx, challenging our assumptions and biases, and taking a look at our future and our journey there.
Last year, Atlas Coffee Importers led a journey mapping workshop to help us navigate where we are, where we want to go, and the opportunities and challenges that are helping/preventing us from achieving our goals. It was powerful and inspirational. We will host this workshop digitally this year for the 2021 cohort.
Being a Glitter Cat means you’re always a Glitter Cat! We are here to cheer on and support you in future competitions, business endeavors, and anything else you do.
