Thanks to Atlas Coffee Importers, each Glitter Cat Roaster receives one full-bag (that could be 150 pounds!) of donated coffee of their choice!

Each roaster works directly with Atlas to select their preferred coffee, whether the desire was grown in a certain origin or processed a certain way (can we get a “cheers!” for naturally processed coffees?!).

Roasters receive a few different samples, sample roasted, and select their coffee, and then get to work on designing swag labels, and all of the other magical components in your coffee boxes!

More about

Black Is Blessed and Carlos

My name is Carlos Sims, Jr. and I am joyfully married to the love of my life Kaitlyn. We have 3 beautiful children Zion (6), Ezra (4), and Elim (6). I am a pastor, artist, and coffee roaster in the greatest city in America, Des Moines, Iowa.

I fell in love with coffee when I saw how coffee could be used to connect people from all backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities. Coffee gave me a way to be seen, heard and valued. As a minority, much of my life has been spent in mostly majority circles surrounded by majority cultures. As a black christian and pastor in a majority cultured church there are instances, whether by accident or intentional, where I have been tempted to see my color and culture as unimportant to my faith journey. This last year I have experienced a reawakening to my culture and a love for my heritage. This has come through much time in prayer, meditation, careful bible reading, and therapy. I have begun to see that my heritage as a descendant of Africa places me at the core of Chirtianity because many of the most influential founders of my faith were African. What is more is that the bible is clear that God loves diversity and multicultural expressions. So much so, that the end of the bible describes the culmination of history as a multicultural, multilingual, and multicolored worship service. So this coffee release has one purpose, to highlight that Black is Blessed.
